PMA Action and supporters of "Corporations are NOT People: Money is NOT Speech;"

PMA has been informed, as of late Friday, that House Bill no. H-933, one of the two Bills for a legislative Amendment to the MA Constitution, will be heard by the Joint Judiciary Committee THIS coming Wednesday, at 11 AM; Room B-2

Listing of the Bill to be heard: https://malegislature.gov/Bills/189/House/H933
Hearing info: https://malegislature.gov/Events/EventDetail?eventId=1071&eventDataSource=Hearings (Note: website lists room B-2)
compostition of the Committee: https://malegislature.gov/Committees/Joint/J19

PMA will be trying to find out if this is the BEST opportunity the Public will have to appear and Testify before a Joint Committee, or whether the Senate Version of the amendment [docket no.SD 1311] will be scheduled for a Public Hearing on a date later in the month, with a Full Joint Cttee in attendence.* At present the Senate bill number and committee assignment has not been released.

FOR THE MOMENT, this is the only Public Hearing that we know of, so PLEASE Save 11 AM on Wednesday April 15th to attend in support of these legislative bills which are based on PassMassAmendment's initiative petition. Bill no. H-933 is the fifth bill to be heard on Wednesday (according to the website) but first on the attached notice, so please plan to be at the State House by 10 AM if you want to give a brief public statement.

Constituents of any of the members of the Joint Judiciary Committee (see link above), please contact me.

Supporters planning to speak in favor of the bill or hand in a written statement of support, please contact me: passmassamendmentpsa(AT)gmail.com to get on the list of speakers/writers.

I will be calling the State House on Monday, to confirm the status of this Hearing. More details to come.

* Debate in the State House over revised rules regarding the proceedures of the Joint Committees is delaying the hearing process and leaving some uncertainty to whether all Joint Committee Members will attend the scheduled hearings.
